i got an old computer moniter, what could i get out of it?

I took apart an old tv, and got wires and caps(for shocking people ) and pots, etc. anything you might find interesting
IIRC you might be able to make and osciliascope out of it.

be very VERY carefull opening computer monitors.
there are some seriously high voltages in there.
even when the monitor has not been switched on for weeks the capacitors can theoretically still hold many hundred volts.
if you do decide to open up one of these guys, make sure you discharge any big capacitors before you go touching the high power parts of the circuit board.

You serious? I thought it was only like 5 mins. well, anyways I've waited a couple of minutes and never got shocked

dunk is right. the caps in a monitor can hold charge for months. The toxic part is the dust that's on the the picture tube (i think its phosphorus??)

Considering that you used your very first post for reviving a 2+ year dead (and not very interesting) post , you do need support of course, but around here, we don't use our peroxide for our hair, so we may come up short
